VLAN's: Virtual Local Area Network - this feature creates a "network inside a network" for each of your servers. This gives you the privacy, security, and performance of locking your traffic into its own private section of our bigger network.

Public Network: Essentially, the network port on your server(s) which access traffic to and from the Internet. This is open to all public traffic. Every server has its own public network VLAN, segrating the public side of each server from every other server in the datacenter. Available speeds are 10Megabits, 100Megabits, and 1000Megabits.

Private Network: Every account at PacificRack has its own Private Network. The secondary network port on every server in your account is connected to your "private internet". This gives you a completely secure, high performance network to perform database functions, load balancing, inter-server communications, and more. Regardless of when the server is added, and where in any of our datacenters it is, your server is accessible on your private network. Your private network is also used for internal PacificRack services such as R1Soft CDP backups, VPN Passthrough Access, O/S Repositories and more. Private Network bandwidth usage is not counted towards your monthly allowance. Available speeds are 10Megabits, 100Megabits, and 1000Megabits.

Remote Reboot Port: This features allows you to control the power input to each of servers. Web-based access to the power distribution unit in the server cabinet allows you to remotely cycle power for a reboot, or completely turn off/on the power feed to your server.

Bandwidth Graphing: Each server has a graphical and test display of your current public monthly transfer usage for your period; allowing you to monitor and project needs for your business.

Upgradeable Network Ports: Increase your servers capacity to the public or private networks. Available speeds range from 10Megabits, 100Megabits, and 1Gigabit.

KVM over IP: Every server at PacificRack includes KVM over IP "ON-DEMAND" service. KVM (Keyboard,Video,Mouse) provides you with the convenience of BIOS-level access to your machine while being completely remote. Regardless of the state of your operating system, you will still be able to access your server to manage and resolve the issue. On-Demand service means KVMoIP units are attached on an as-needed basis.

IPMI Server Management: For those needing full-time control. IPMI is a physical daughter card addon to your SuperMicro server. It gives you FULLTIME remote access at the BIOS-level to all aspects of your machine. Our IPMI solution includes full-time KVM over IP, Serial Console, Power Control, and more.

Local O/S Repositories: We provide you with locally hosted repositories for our supported operating systems. Accessible via our public or private networks, these allow you to update your machines with speeds only possible internally. Using our local repositories also assures protection against unknowingly downloading and installing hijacked packages from public repo's.

SuperMicro Servers: SuperMicro rackmounted servers are enterprise grade machines built with real server hardware. Utilizing SuperMicro motherboards, chassis's, and SuperMicro approved memory and hard drives affords us the confidence to stand behind our servers. Additional benefits include the ability to properly maintain our server cabinets airflow, and wiring organization all of which precludes to a healthier environment for your server!

Automated Reverse DNS: (In Development) Perform RDNS configurations within the MyRack portal automatically on your assigned IP blocks.

Automated Forward DNS: (In Development) Utilize our complimentarily provided forward DNS for any of your domains should you decide not to operate your own nameservers. Our DNS solution is redundant, load balanced, and geographically dispersed.

VPN Passthrough Access: (In Development) Security is a major issue for us. One of the many ways we help to secure your machine is by providing web-based SSL VPN passthrough access to your server's private network. As an example, you are able to completely disable all public SSH access and access your machine solely from your private network via our SSL-secured, 256bit encryption VPN-to-Private Network passthrough!
