PacificRack, by default offers our servers under a Self-Management pretense. This means you have full and total control of your machine, while PacificRack is responsible for the network, facility, and the hardware in the server itself. Self-Managed servers allows us to offer the competitively priced servers you see on our site, as it keeps our overhead lower. This in turn, saves you significant amounts every month.
Your server is delivered with full root (Linux) or Terminal Services (Windows), allowing you to start managing and administering your server right from the start. Given this full access will enable you to install your needed software services that you require for your very specific needs. If you feel that you need assistance with a certain software installation of configuration, we offer very convenient, and very affordable per incident system administration. We realize that not everyone is well versed in system administration, so while we are primarily solely responsible for the network uptime, facilities management, and internal server hardware by default; we maintain a 24x7x365 technical support staff that is standing by to provide assistance at a nominal fee of $5 per system administration ticket. The fee only applies to tickets which specifically require actual system administration to resolve the issue. If the issue is related to one of our responsibilities you will not be charged for the ticket.
Many of our customers deeply appreciate the availability of such a convenient resource to back them up in an emergency situation or with a problem they are just unable to resolve on their own; while some of our customers prefer to subscribe to our System Management options which allows them the freedom of worry-free website serving, while our staff fully manages and supervises their servers operation. Our System Management options allow a true sense of “hands-off” administration, with requests for changes handled swiftly and courteously by our staff.
As you see, whether you are an experienced system administrator capable of managing your own server via console or a control panel, or if your are of intermediate experience and might require occasional one-time assistance, or if you need full system administration with a hands-off approach on your side, PacificRack can, will, and is happy to accommodate!
